Dancing our way into Seachtain na Gaeilge

2nd Mar 2023

Irish culture is at the heart of our school's ethos and we believe in the importance of passing on our traditions to the next generation. That's why we were thrilled to have Pat O'Dea come to our school to teach our 5th class students the art of Sean nós dancing.

Sean nós is a traditional Irish dancing style that is known for its intricate footwork and lively rhythms. Pat O'Dea is a renowned dancer and teacher who has been promoting Irish culture for many years. His passion and enthusiasm are  infectious and our students were eager to learn from him.

During the classes, Pat teaches our students the basic steps and movements of Sean nós dancing, and encourages them to express themselves through the music. Our students have quickly picked up the steps and are dancing with confidence and joy.

The classes are a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with their Irish heritage and learn a new skill. It is also a chance for them to build their confidence and self-expression through the art of dance. We are grateful to Pat O'Dea for sharing his knowledge and love of Irish culture with us.

At our school, we believe that cultural education is an important part of our students' development. Through classes like this, we hope to inspire a love and appreciation for Irish culture that will stay with our students for a lifetime.
