This week we will be learning about Safer Internet Day. In a world where the internet has such huge role in our daily lives it is very important that we learn how to navigate it safely. On Safer Internet Day we encourage children and parents to discuss the benefits and dangers of living in an online world. There are some excellent resources on the Webwise.ie website to assist parents when discussing this issue, as well as videos for children to highlight some dangers they may not even be aware of.
Please take some time this week to start a discussion with your child about their online activity and how it can be of benefit to them but also the harm that can happen with online gaming, messaging apps, Snapchat, Tik Tok etc
