Safer Internet Day 2025
12th Feb 2025
All classes from 3rd to 6th took part in safer internet day today where some really valuable discussions took place around the area of online safety.
Some of the main themes to be discussed were around online friendships with people the children do not know, being part of Snapchat groups and having no control of what is shared in the group, having unsupervised access to devices until late at night and of course cyber bullying.
We were delighted with the children's honesty in discussions and it is clear that there are things they see and hear online that they do not want to be part of. Unfortunately some feel unable to address issues with parents out of fear of losing access to their devices.
We sent home some information for parents today to help start the discussion with children on safe use of internet. The sooner we start the discussion with them the better.
